Lamerak

Lamerak is a solo Dungeon Synth and fantasy music project which blends together medieval, cinematic and synthesized sounds to tell stories of far off lands.

Lamerak's eponymous debut EP was released on December 4th of 2020. It tells the story of a traveler who's greed dooms the world in 5 short tracks!

In the winter of 2021-2022 Mitch (of Bog) and I collaborated on a Comfy Synth Split EP together. It was named Last Snow, First Bloom and released March 2022.

In the summer of 2022, Fantasy Audio Magazine from Covington, Kentucky reached out to me and asked me to be apart of a split EP for the magazine with another local artist called Leafbutterfly. I took a bit more of a synthesizer oriented direction with it, trying to strike a good balance between orchestral, traditional and synthesized instruments. It was released later that summer.

In Spring of 2023, I released 'A Journey Into the Feywild', an 18-track album that was in production for almost 2 years prior to release! It clocks in at slightly over an hour in runtime and takes influence from a wide variety of sources, taking a more Orchestral approach to composition, rather than purely synthesis.

In the Summer of 2023, I collaborated again with Fantasy Audio Magazine! This time, to make a crypid-themed EP for the Covington Cryptid Block Party! There were 4 different crypid-themed tapes made for the event. Each tape characterized a specific cryptid local to the Greater Cincinnati-Area. Mine was 'Songs for the Loveland Frogman', based on the Loveland Frogman, of course! The EP consists of 5 tracks, with each track being limited to 3 instruments total, all drawn from presets on an old Yamaha synth. I'm also happy to report that every single tape sold out before the event was even halfway over!

In Winter of 2023/Early 2024, I was apart of two compilation albums with Umbra Vulgaris. The first album was 'Shades of Dark Ambient, Volume 5'. The second compilation, 'Shades of Dark Ambient, Volume 6', was significant, as it was a benefit album in which 100% of the proceeds from the album went to supporting food, medicine and other relief for the Gaza strip, currently under genocidal conditions.

I also went on to contribute to 'Shades of Dark Ambient Volume 7' and 'Shades of Dark Ambient 8', both through Umbra Vulgaris records as well.

In collaboration with Fantasy Audio Magazine, I made my debut live appearance at the Cincinnati area's first regional Dungeon Synth and Fantasy Music live performance. I shared the stage with Haudh, Mons, Magic Mishap and Hedge Wizard. The setlist consisted of a couple tracks from my eponymous EP, a couple tracks from the Cloven Hoof EP, as well as a couple tracks from the Loveland Frogman EP. With over 200 people attending, the show was a resounding success, and more will come in the future. Watch the full performance here!

Ossification

A Black metal project my good friend Mike and I have been collaborating on, including influence from countless different variations of Black Metal.

Our debut full-length album, 'Gathered in the Ancient Woodlands' is was released in Mid October of 2023 through Liminal Dread Productions. Live performance hopefully coming in the future!

OSHA Violation

My electronic music project that began as an experimental electronic music project with some influences from IDM. As of late I've been incorporating elements of minimal synth, psybient and ambient techno, while still retaining elements of IDM and experimental music.

The first OSHA Violation album, Ditch The Quaaludes, was released in 2020

In fall of 2020, Dr Chris Boshuizen put out an open call and invited musicians around the country to submit music to bring into space with him aboard the Blue Origin New Shepherd rocket! I selected Sonder by OSHA Violation to submit and he accepted my submission!

On the morning of Oct 13 2021, Dr B and my song went into space on a specially designed usb flash drive. It's crazy that a piece of music I made is among one of the earliest pieces of music in space (in the grand scheme of things of course!).

He created a SoundCloud playlist with all the songs he brought to space in it! My song is song #231 on the playlist!

Bog

Bog was a Doom/Death Metal Band I started with my friends Justin and Mitch.

It was my first musical project, and the first band I performed live with. I did guitar and vocals. We started off playing house shows and local venues around Cincinnati, as well as the surrounding area and occasionally a nearby city!

Bog in 2021

Bog in 2021

Bog formed in December of 2019 and we played our first gig in February 2020. We originally started as a 4 piece, with 2 guitarists, but eventually settled on a 3 piece setup with a single guitar.

We released our first EP, Swamp Witch (a much 'doomier' record) on April 20th, 2021, which was coincidentally my 21st birthday as well.

We took heavy influence from Doom, Groove and Sludge metal such as Eyehategod, Windhand, Corrosion of Conformity and Pantera. Later, we also started to take heavy influence from Cavernous Death Metal bands such as Gatecreeper and 200 Stab Wounds.

Bog is on hiatus as of December 2022.

Assassin's Creed Rescore

Given a clip from Assassin's Creed Revelations that had the music stripped out, I created my own score over-top of it. View it below.

EARTHCORPSE

Clay, A friend of mine, announced in early 2022 that he was going to be curating an art exhibition highlighting the effects of Industrialization in the Cincinnati area.

He reached out to Mitch (also of Bog) and I to create a long-form, noisy, dark ambient piece to complement the rest of the exhibit. We came up with a 28 minute piece of music called 'This Burning Valley'.

It looped on repeat during the exhibit, alternating with another piece of music, produced by Logan Brown. Mitch then published it under his tape label, Terminal Brain Rot.

The Initiate Score

My friend Oliver was tasked with creating a film capstone for the film class he was doing. It was a film he titled 'The Initiate'. He reached out to me and invited me to partake in both scoring it and acting in it. It's a dope movie. Very 'Lynchian' if you will. I created a synthesizer-based Dark Ambient track for the film.

To be completely honest, I think I'm a better musician than I am an actor, but I'll leave that up to you.

Game Scoring

Root Beer Run Score

Root Beer Run is an indie game that I did Music Composition and Sound Design for, during Global Game Jam 2023. It's a 7 track OST inspired by 8-bit and 16-bit games of the past and the present.

Star Fighters Score

Star Fighters is a Phaser-based web game that I helped programmed and made the music for as apart of my final for a Web Game Development class. I created a chiptune theme that is reminiscent of old school arcade shooter themes.

7RU7H Music Video

A local hip-hop video production group based near me, called Soul Serum, contacted me and asked me to perform guitar in an upcoming music video. It was an artist named 7RU7H (pronounced truth) who was doing a pop-punk/hip-hop song and wanted a backing band in the video. He added that we would be filming it at Skatopia, an enormous skate park in middle-of-nowhere Eastern Ohio. It sounded cool, so, I agreed and learned the song in a couple of days. Then, we made the drive to Skatopia to film the video. It was a really cool experience that turned out really well!

Wyatt Guitar Solo

Wyatt, an artist formerly known as Dub50 who I've been tight with for years, asked me to write a guitar solo for his track 'Without You (Featuring Paul Brisske)' off his debut album, 'Somewhere Out There', released in Fall 2022.

Ibbi Too Vicious Live Performance

Local Punk/Hip-Hop artist, Ibbi Too Vicious, reached out to me and asked me to learn the guitar parts on his beats and come and play them live with him on stage. It was a lot of fun and a really cool experience!

Other Solo Material

On my SoundCloud, I have an assortment of random songs that I've written and recorded and produced and all that. It ranges from Metal to Jazz to Ambient to everything in between.

Check out the complex systems section of my portfolio, to see how I've applied complex systems theory towards generative music composition!
